The experiments conducted within our laboratory use methods of atomic, molecular, optical physics and quantum technologies, to test the standard model of particle physics at low energy. Using advanced Penning trap systems, we compare the fundamental properties of protons [1] and antiprotons [2, 3] with highest possible precision to test the fundamental charge, parity, time reversal invariance (matter/antimatter symmetry). Using our data, we search for time dependent signatures imposed by Physics beyond the Standard Model. Following these approaches, we have for example set most stringent limits on asymmetric antimatter/dark matter interaction [4]. Furthermore, our sensitive superconducting single particle detectors and low-noise traps [5] allow us to operate our experiments as sensitive detectors for light dark matter [6], such as axions and milli-charged particles.
